Canvassing action day - Saturday 12th January

The first Nottingham Lib Dems to be elected in 12 years?

Can you canvass? Do you want to see us get Lib Dems win a seat in Nottingham for the first time in 12 years? Are you done with me asking questions now? In which case, read on!

A new ward called Castle has been created. It's like the boundary commission decided to ring fence the highest concentration of our members and create a ward based on that. It's a gift. We've also been working in this area since the EU referendum in 2016. That's what I like to call "luck".

Labour have selected two candidates who don't live in the ward. One of them is a sitting councillor from another ward who has been deselected by his current ward after he staged a failed leadership bid against the council leader.

We have two strong candidates - one has lived in the ward for over 30 years, the other was deputy group leader of the Lib Dems the last time we had councillors in the city.

We want to fight a tight, focused campaign in April/May, based on great canvass data so we need those canvass returns up front. That's where you come in.

Please, if you can, help us on Saturday 12th January in one of our two canvass sessions (or both if you're up for a good session of knocking doors). The first is 11am - 1pm and the second is 2.30pm - 4.30pm. My email is lloydie@nottinghamlibdems.org.uk - when you email, please say which session you can make and give me a contact number. I'll make sure we give you a good briefing before we hit the doors.
