I am standing in the Nettleham and Saxilby division. My father was a local small farmer and I am the eldest of four children. I went to Nettleham C of E Junior School and Lincoln Christ's Hospital Girls' High School. I returned to Nettleham after university, working as a teacher in a comprehensive school in Kirkby New Town, Liverpool and North Kesteven Mixed Grammar School, then as a housemother in a village for adults with severe learning disabilities in Berkshire and at Saxon House, Welton, when it was an Assessment Unit for adolescents. I have worked in other local schools including the St Francis Special School. I also taught evening classes at Branston Adult Education Centre, teaching Psychology, Sociology and Law and marked external exam papers for G.C.S.E. and Cambridge International examinations.

After my initial degree in French, I have obtained a M.Ed and a degree in Law.

I am married to Michael who worked in Social Services and Probation, retiring as a Family Court Adviser. We have four children and I involved myself in their sporting activities, mainly football, cricket, swimming and horse riding. Until 2019 I was a governor and then Chair of Governors in a local secondary school.

I am active in the local community. I have been a LIVES First Responder and an adviser for Citizens Advice.

I became a Nettleham Parish Councillor and West Lindsey District Councillor in 2015.

I have always voted as a Liberal and have been involved in the local Liberal Democrat committees, including being treasurer of the Nettleham Branch.

As fringe villages, Nettleham and Saxilby share some of the same issues, especially in regard to the number of houses which have been built in our villages over the last five years. My mother's family, the Valleys, came from Saxilby and I am in contact with one cousin who still lives there.

What I offer is an alternative voice in the present political establishment in Lincolnshire County Council. I am responsive to residents, competent in articulating their concerns and determined in following them through.

I am closely following the progress of the review of the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan and the plans for a net-zero Central Lincolnshire. As a member of the Lincolnshire Health Scrutiny Committee I am well-informed on what is happening locally. It will be important in the future where the use of digital communication is likely to continue in many parts of the health service, to ensure that personal service is still available when needed. I recognise also the general concern over the speed of vehicles travelling into villages, the condition of local roads and pavements and the amount of litter on our verges.

I will aim to highlight these issues and work towards improving our outcomes for the welfare of everyone in our community.
