Welcome to the new Gainsborough Constituency Liberal Democrat website.

Towards the end of last year, we made a decision to sign up with Prater Raines, a company providing web services to many of the Liberal Democrat constituencies across our region.

Our association with them will enable us to connect much more effectively with our membership and also hopefully keep everyone better informed and connected with national and regional Liberal Democrat issues and events.

With new legislation coming into force around data protection, it is essential that we comply with current laws and I am confident that Prater Raines will give us the support we need, as we get our website and our email groups established.

Working in the Community

I am very keen that we use our website to showcase some of the great work that Liberal Democrats do in the community. So, if you are a local member and are involved in any campaigns or projects, please let me know and I will ensure that we promote what you do.

Email template

You will notice that we will be using a branded template, when we email you. The executive will be using this to send out information about executive meetings and also the general meetings that we intend to invite all members to, throughout the year.

Getting involved

The Gainsborough Constituency is a large constituency and we really want to increase the number of opportunities to meet socially - whether that is coffee in your local café, a Liberal drinks night in your local pub or a meal in your favourite restaurant. I'm keen that we don't make this too much like hard work. Let us know if you'd like to meet up near to where you are and we'll make an effort to advertise on the website and get there if we can.

Local elections

Local district council elections will be taking place in May 2019. To stand in these as a Liberal Democrat, you must first become an approved candidate (this is just to ensure that your views do reflect those of the Liberal Democrats). Following this, you will then have the opportunity to apply to stand and if successful become the candidate for a particular ward.

The executive will be putting out a timetable for the selection process, shortly. Please consider applying, despite being a lot of hard work, it is a lot of fun and has the potential to change your life.

Who's who?

Over the coming weeks, I will be adding names and contact details of Lib dem Councillors, executive members and anyone else involved in local campaigns and activities, should they wish, so that members can get a feel for who's working in their area.
